College of STEM

The College of Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM), provides studies for students in the areas of agriculture, astronomy, biology, chemistry, computer science, engineering physics, engineering technology, geosciences, information technology, mathematics, medical technology, radiologic technology, and physics. Our outstanding, discipline-based programs are student-centered and designed to prepare students for responsible positions at all levels of research, industry, education, medicine, and government positions.

Welcome to the College of Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics

One of the goals of APSU's Strategic Plan is to increase enrollment in both undergraduate and graduate programs. Our college is committed to remaining innovative and to providing degrees that make our students competitive and qualified in the job market. This past year we have developed undergraduate or graduate programs in areas of computer science, cybersecurity, predictive analytics, engineering physics, veterinary technology, mathematics education, and quantitative analysis. In addition, we are preparing to enroll students in APSU's first ever Bachelors degree in Aviation Science in Fall 2018 (pending a final accreditation approval). This program, through the concentration in rotor-wing, will allow students to earn a degree in aviation science and receive a Private Helicopter Certification, Commercial Helicopter Pilot Certification, and become a Certified Helicopter Flight Instructor and a Certified Instrumentation Helicopter Flight Instructor.

In addition to new programs, we continue to think of innovative ways to recruit new students and find fun ways to get current students involved on campus. Our new Academic Signing Day, similar to an athletics signing day, energizes our incoming students by allowing them to register early and publicly sign a scholarship offer to APSU. The Academic Rush, modeled after the Greek Rush Week, allows new students to enjoy a cookout, meet faculty and student leaders, and discover CoSTEM’s 17 student organizations. Right away, we’re helping them chart a path toward their future success. I’d love to meet with you personally to talk about these initiatives and some of our new programs and degree offerings.
