CAFE Sponsored Part-time Instructors Orientation Welcome

Orientation Dates:

Spring 2023: Tuesday, January 10, 2023, 10:00am-11:30am
                     Thursday, January 12, 2023, 1:30pm-3:00pm
     

The Center for Advancement of Faculty Excellence (CAFE) is devoted to helping part-time faculty become proficient teachers as they engage students inside and outside of the classroom.

CAFE coordinates the orientation, where attendees will be acquainted with various aspects of APSU, including campus safety, innovative education technology and technology training opportunities. Throughout the orientation process, participants will learn how to utilize proven approaches and techniques that maximize student engagement, collaboration, and transformative learning opportunities. Participants will also gain a clear understanding of relevant university policies and procedures and become effective referral agents.

Traditionally, the program will conclude with the Welcome Reception; this gathering is designed to reduce the isolation that permeates teaching in higher education institutions, create positive professional relationships, assist adjunct and part-time faculty members to become more effective teachers, and strengthen our efforts to forge significant transformative learning experiences for our students. The Welcome Reception will be resumed after social distancing restrictions are modified.
