Admission for Transfer Students
Welcome to Austin Peay! This information applies to you if you have attempted 12 or more college credit-hours and are not a veteran/member of the armed forces. If you have attempted fewer than 12 college credit-hours, please visit our Freshman Admission website. APSU Transfer Center
We know transferring from one college to another can be stressful. To help ease your transition, we offer special transfer student services through our Transfer Center. Please contact the Transfer Center at transfercenter@apsu.edu, (931) 221-7280 or (800) 844-APSU with any questions or concerns.
- Apply online and pay your one-time, non-refundable $25 application fee.
- Request for your high school transcript or GED/HiSET scores to be sent to our Office
of Admissions. We cannot accept hand-delivered transcripts, special education diplomas or high school
certificates.
- If you graduated from high school or earned a GED before 1989, we do not need your high school transcript or GED scores.
- Request all college/university transcript(s) to be sent directly to the APSU Office of Admissions.

Submit a certificate of immunization form. You'll need to complete this form and have it signed by a certified healthcare provider. Click here to print the form. Active duty military, veterans, national guard and reservists are exempt.

Traditional credit-hours (GPA Hours): The number of traditional credit-hours you have attempted at institutions of higher
learning, regardless of whether or not you received credit for those hours.
Regular admission: You are unconditionally admitted to APSU.
Probation: You will enter the University on probation and may only take 14 credit-hours during
Clarksville Campus semesters or six hours during Fort Campbell campus terms. If your
GPA falls below a 1.5 after completion of the first semester, you will be suspended.
DSP Placement: As a transfer student, you must have either satisfactory completion of college-level
English, math and history OR valid test scores showing no need for remedial studies.
The Office of Admissions awards the following scholarships for our transfer students:
- The Austin Peay Promise - This award is given to incoming transfer students who earn 30 credit hours from a Tennessee Board of Regents community college (or Hopkinsville Community College), and the requisite GPA. This award is intended for first-time transfer students.

Transfer Dean's - This award is given to incoming transfer students who are transferring from a 4-year college/university or non-Tennessee Board of Regents community college (or Hopkinsville Community College), and have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5. This award is intended for first-time transfer students and is based on limited funds.
- Alumni Legacy Scholarship- The Alumni Legacy Scholarship honors those families who, over several generations, have found a home at this University. Your family believed in Austin Peay, and we believe in you and your legacy. That’s why the University developed the Alumni Legacy Scholarship, an award amount of $1,000. You are what makes this University special, and we’re honored to provide this award to ensure your family continues to thrive here. - General Austin Peay scholarship application. This application will apply you for all Austin Peay scholarships that you may be eligible for, and any departmental scholarships that you may be eligible for.
Your college credits are important to us at Austin Peay. We want to make sure that you receive all of the credit for the classes that you have taken. If you are transferring from a non-Tennessee Board of Regents college, you can see what students have transferred from your school in the past here.
