Complete a FAFSA
Complete your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Use APSU school code “003478” when completing your application. The priority deadline for completing a FAFSA is February 1st.
- The FAFSA opens October 1. You must reapply each academic year for financial aid.
- If this is your first time completing a FAFSA, you must create an FSA ID in order to sign your application. You and one of your parents (if you are a dependent undergraduate student) must sign your FAFSA electronically with your FSA IDs before the application can be fully processed.
- You should receive your Student Aid Report (SAR) Information Acknowledgment in the mail and/or email within one week of completing your FAFSA. Your SAR summarizes the information you reported on your FAFSA. Review the SAR for accuracy. If corrections need to be made, make the corrections online or correct the SAR and mail it to the address provided.
- Our office begins processing new FAFSA data December 1 of each year. If you are selected for Verification, you will receive correspondence via AP e-mail. Award packages will be processed tentatively beginning February 1 of each year. Students will receive award notifications via AP e-mail. Students who meet the priority deadline date will have their awards packaged first.
