In order to be successful at APSU, we want to ensure you receive all the technical support you may need. In this section, you will find student technical support that is specific to D2L. You are able to learn about accessing your courses in D2L, as well as preview many D2L videos that will assist you in your courses. Please check out the link Technical Support for Students.
The Learning Resource Center offers a number of services designed to help students meet their educational objectives and achieve academic success. Through the services offered by the ASC, students grow in personal responsibility and gain meaningful, marketable skills while earning their degree and contributing to the surrounding community. These services include:
- Peer tutoring and technology assistance are offered to enrolled students through the Academic Support Center (ASC). Tutoring is available for most general education core courses, as well as some upper-division courses. All tutoring occurs in the Writing Center. The ASC provides online tutoring through Tutor.com that is available 24/7 for many undergraduate courses.
- The Writing Center is located in the Woodward Library and provides students with writing support related to grammar, vocabulary, writing proper citations, adhering to writing styles such as MLA and APA, and preventing plagiarism. Additionally, the Writing Center allows students to submit written papers online for review and timely feedback, typically within 48 hours of their submission.
- The Structured Learning Assistance (SLA) program serves undergraduate students who entered the university with an academic deficiency by using a co-requisite model to provide SLA supported courses, courses designated with an “E” in the course description. SLA also supports courses that are known to be challenging to students. These courses are designated with an “S” for success in the course description.

Register your vehicle for parking on APSU's main campus here. Please allow up to 1 minute for your browser to login to the system. You will need your vehicle's license plate information.
A parking decal is required when you attend class on APSU's main campus. The cost of the decal is included in your campus fees (which are waived for dual enrollment students); instructions on obtaining a decal and other information can be found at https://www.apsu.edu/police/parking.

You can request a copy of your APSU transcript through OneStop > Web Self Service > Student > Student Records > Request Official Transcript. There are two options: a secure electronic transcript or a printed transcript.
Students may request copies of transcripts from the Office of the Registrar at any time permitting there are no holds on the account. There is no charge for transcripts unless you request a secure, electronic PDF transcript. A convenience fee of $2.85 is charged by the vendor, Parchment, to have transcripts sent electronically. Transcript requests will be processed in the order received. Please allow 5-7 business days to process transcripts submitted through AP OneStop. A reminder that processing may take longer for students who have asked that their transcripts be held pending posting of grades or degree.
For dual enrollment students, academic advising is provided by the APSU Dual Enrollment High School/University Liaison. The role of the High School/University Liaison is to:
- Serve as liaison with area high school counselors and teachers
- Develop individual academic plans for students enrolled in dual enrollment
- Provide informational sessions for parents, counselors, and students
- Assist counselors and students in enrollment process
- Serve as academic advisor for all Dual Enrollment students.

The Office of Student Disability Resource Center provides support for students to ensure access for any student with a disability to all curricular and co-curricular opportunities offered by APSU. The office provides the following services to any student registered with the office: note-taking accommodations, testing accommodations, interpreting/CART (Real-Time Captioning) services, alternative format materials, assistive technology, readers/scribes, screen magnification, and educational programming. Additionally, the Office of Student Disability Resource Center serves as a liaison with faculty and staff in meeting the needs of students with registered disabilities.
Student Counseling Services offers individual, group, and crisis counseling in a welcoming and inclusive environment. Students have the ability to utilize Student Counseling Services at no charge and each student is eligible for 12 individual counseling sessions per year. The Counseling Center offers a variety of services for currently enrolled students. Dual enrolled students are typically referred to their high school guidance counselor but can access the APSU Student Counseling Services if needed. Counseling sessions are scheduled by appointment and a phone screening is required prior to the first appointment.
Although dual enrollment students are not eligible for federal financial aid while in high school, they may wish to visit the Office of Financial Aid and Veterans Affairs to ask questions regarding their future financial aid as an undergraduate student.
The Office of Financial Aid and Veterans Affairs seeks to assist students and veterans in obtaining resources and processing their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), financial aid awards, scholarships, and benefits.
Boyd Health Services provides a number of services for the benefit of students. Among some of the services provided include: acute and chronic illness care; health screenings and education; allergy injections and immunizations (MMR, meningitis, Influenza clinics, etc.); medication-prescription and nonprescription; lab work; and family planning (birth control, pap screenings, STD checks).
Healthcare is provided by certified nurse practitioners, certified medical assistants, consulting physicians and a pharmacist. There is no office fee for enrolled students to see a provider. Students requiring lab tests will be billed. Medications received in Health Services will also be billed to the student’s account. Although insurance is not a requirement for student enrollment, Austin Peay State University encourages students to have private health insurance. Information regarding locating private insurance can be obtained at Boyd Health Services. Boyd Health Services does not file insurance.
The Office of Student Affairs offers advocacy, wellness, diversity, involvement, engagement, spirit, recreation, and leadership opportunities. Having oversight for a number of programs and services dedicated to support student success, the Office of Student Affairs assumes a major responsibility for assisting in the creation of a positive campus environment for students.
Housed within the Office of Student Affairs are two full time professional staff who work with students on a daily basis:
Dean of Students
The Dean of Students serves as an advocate for all students and is a resource for faculty, staff, and students in navigating some of the complex issues that arise on and off campus pertaining to students. This office works closely with faculty in oversight of the Academic Misconduct Policy; serves as an advisor for the Student Government Association (SGA); works with various administrative offices in addressing any student concerns; has oversight for the Miller/SGA Emergency Loan Program; and investigates and adjudicates student conduct violations. The Dean of Students also serves as a Deputy Title IX Coordinator.

Director of Student Conduct
The Director of Student Conduct has the primary oversight for the student conduct process. Additionally, this position provides training and development for the University Hearing Board; serves as the convener for the Behavioral Intervention Team; provides educational programming pertaining to sexual assault/domestic violence prevention; coordinates care of Counseling and Health Services clients who have mental health concerns of a chronic or deeply ingrained nature; and provides outreach, support, and training of faculty and staff on working with students of concern.

The Office of Student Life and Engagement (SLE) recognizes the important role that student life plays in supporting the co-curricular mission of Austin Peay and the Division of Student Affairs. For that reason, SLE strives to connect academic and out-of-class experiences through programming and leadership development that establishes a diverse, interactive and responsive learning community. The Office of Student Life and Engagement prepares students to be citizen leaders with an understanding of the global community and a commitment to service. The office maintains oversight for more than 100 active student organizations on campus which can be social, religious, political, educational, economic, or athletic in nature.
This office coordinates the annual Homecoming celebration, works with the Govs Programming Council to plan, promote, and execute entertainment and educational programs for students. This office has oversight for the Govs Leadership Education and Development program which connects students to leadership opportunities and builds skills and offers opportunities for leaders to showcase their strengths and experiences. Additionally, the office provides programming and students through their leadership series, leadership certificate program, and Ziegler Leadership Forum annually.
The Newton Military Family Resource Center assists veterans, active duty, reservist, national guardsmen, retirees, ROTC students and family members that attend the university with transition from the military to college life. The center provides a computer center, a lounge and dining area, and an environment that provides assistance in resolving some of the academic and personal issues for military-related students. Among some of the services provided for students include the Texts for Vets program, Tech for Vets program, Student/Peer Tutoring, and educational programming and services held in conjunction with some of the other cultural centers on campus.
The Latino Community Resource Center provides programming and services to students to develop, promote, and increase awareness and understanding of Hispanic culture. The center provides programming, lectures, travel and music to support the mission of the center. Additionally, the center provides free tutoring services from faculty in the Languages and Literature Department for any student who wishes to learn Spanish, student computer stations, a library of Hispanic books, dictionaries, movies and magazines, as well as textbooks used in Spanish classes on campus. Students also have the ability to check out Rosetta Stone language software to become more proficient in Spanish.
The Wilbur N. Daniel African American Cultural Center provides a nurturing environment where all students and faculty, regardless of race or ethnicity, can gain an appreciation of African-American heritage and experience. The center brings to campus an array of outstanding scholars, artisans, and professionals whose knowledge and accomplishments enrich the University experience of students, faculty, staff, and the larger community. The center hosts over 50 programs annually and provides TI-83 calculators, laptops, MacBook, Netbooks, and more than 1,600 library resources for students. Students also can utilize stationary computers in the Center and for students interested in foreign languages, the center also offers a variety of Rosetta Stone tutorial CDs.
University Recreation offers a variety of programs and services for students. State-of-the art computerized fitness assessments; Total body circuits for time-limited exercise; Boot Camp and Aerial Fitness classes; a fitness orientation available for the cardio and resistance fitness areas; and Personal Training at reasonable rates with knowledgeable, experienced trainers. University Recreation also offers an outdoor pool for students; adventure recreation activities which include white water rafting, canoeing, hiking, and backpacking. A climbing wall offers training regularly and provides students with an opportunity to enhance their climbing skills. Lastly, intramurals are also offered to students and features competitive and non-competitive activities such as men’s, women’s Greek, Residence Halls and co-rec sports.
The Office of Career Services mission is to assist students in making a successful transition from academia to the world of work by equipping them with the tools to take ownership of their professional development for lifelong career satisfaction. The Office of Career Services provides one-on-one counseling and career assessments that allow students to be guided through the decision making process. On campus recruiting events also provide students with an opportunity to explore the many employment options available to them.
Additionally, the office provides resume feedback, career assessments, mock interviews, job search strategies, workshops covering various career-related topics. The office offers walk-in hours where no appointment is needed and a library for career-related advice and for undergraduate students to create their four-year plan.
The Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT) encourages faculty, staff, and students to communicate and respond regarding students of concern. Whenever concerning students and their situations are brought to the attention of the intervention team, BIT members meet to gather data and plan for a coordinated response. The ultimate goal is to provide students of concern with assistance, to mitigate risk, or both. The BIT’s ultimate goal is to help keep the APSU community healthy and safe through early, appropriate intervention and to promote a safe environment focused on student learning and success. The campus community will be educated on an ongoing basis regarding the team and its operations and how to respond to students of concern.
Community Engagement and Sustainability (CES) provides students with opportunities to connect their academic and personal growth to the betterment of their community. CSLCE provides the space and opportunity for students to become active citizens from the classroom into their community through service-learning and other opportunities.
Students, faculty, and community agencies benefit from the use of this space to train, present, collaborate and connect the campus with the community. Students benefit from an array of community engagement programs, including alternative break trips, ENGAGEd living community, days of service, volunteer opportunities and food pantry, plus a free thrift shop. Students have the opportunity to enhance their education with the hands-on experience of service-learning courses.
The Office of Student Research and Innovation pools resources from the Library, Financial Aid (e.g., scholarships), Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (Grants), and Career Services to empower students with mechanisms to support their academic and professional careers. OSRI is under the supervision of a faculty member with 50% FTE release. A committee of faculty and staff from every college deliberate on issues affecting student research success. Annually, students may apply for travel grants and research support grants in a competitive process, which concludes with a research showcase weekend, where students present their research in either poster or oral format. Every month, OSRI supports professional development for students. In total, OSRI awarded approximately $50,000 in student travel and student research support for 2018-2019.
The Chief Diversity Officer works in collaboration with the Diversity Committee and is responsible for developing strategies to attract and retain a diverse student body and to recruit, retain, advance, recognize, and promote a diverse faculty and staff. The Chief Diversity Officer, in conjunction with the Diversity Committee, recommends diversity related programs and initiatives, and reviews and assesses data. The Chief Diversity Officer also develops strategies to encourage interaction among the university’s diverse groups to enrich the educational experience and to prepare leaders to live and work in a competitive global community. Finally, the Chief Diversity Office seeks to provide guidance to the university community regarding ways of incorporating diversity in substantive and significant ways into teaching, learning and research.
