Adjustment Counseling- We understand that for our Veterans and their dependents, transitioning from active duty to civilian and campus life can be very stressful. Vet Success On Campus offers adjustment counseling to make this transition easier.
Collaboration- APSU earns its reputation of being a “Veteran Friendly” campus every day by offering a vast number of services and facilities especially designed to meet the needs of our Active Duty Military, Veterans, and Family Members. These services include the APSU Newton Military Family Resource Center, APSU Office of Student Disability Resource Center, APSU Student Counseling Services and APSU Office of Veterans Affairs. We work in close cooperation with these other services to ensure that your transitional needs are being met, and that there are no gaps in services.
Referral Services- For services such as emergency in nature that are not directly available on campus, VetSuccess On Campus can provide information and referral. Examples of these services may include emergency housing assistance, medical referrals, referrals for counseling services, referrals for assistance with payment of utilities or rent, or referrals for ongoing counseling.

Classes- VetSuccess On Campus provides classes on an ongoing basis that focus on areas critical to your success. We focus on important areas such as goal setting, labor market exploration and job search activities, understanding how to use your Veterans Preference for Federal Jobs, and understanding the differences between educational programs including the Chapter 33 Post 9/11 and Chapter 30 GI Bill, and the Chapter 31 Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment Program so that you can make the best decisions when it comes to using your educational benefits.
OUTREACH SERVICES- VetSuccess On Campus maintains continuing outreach efforts with outside agencies including the VA Vet Centers, VA Women’s Health Care Programs, VA Homeless Program, Veterans Service Organizations, VA Education Division, as well as local non-profit agencies providing services to our Active Duty Military, Veterans, and Family Members SAFE, Operation Stand Down, Supportive Services for Veteran Families, Veterans Treatment Court . In this way, if there is a service that is needed that is not provided directly by VetSuccess On Campus, our office can provide detailed information and referral to ensure that the need is met.
