Student Affairs Assessment
Student Affairs supports student learning, engagement and development at APSU. The division engages in ongoing assessment to examine effectiveness of programs, student learning and improve services and experiences for students. Assessment in the division is coordinated by the director of Student Affairs Programs and Assessment. Assessment, guided by the chair and the A Team works to develop program, department and student learning outcomes, coordinates and schedules assessment activities, and makes recommendations on assessment related issues. Assessment results are used to improve student experiences, support, learning and engagement.
Assessment initiatives in the division examine outcomes and results, student and patron needs, student and patron satisfaction, engagement with departments and departmental services and programs, use of facilities, hours of operation, benchmarking and more. Both qualitative and quantitative strategies are used.
The Office of Student Affairs Programs and Assessment hosts workshops and development opportunities to support staff development on assessment and related topics such as CAS, utilizing software, beginning assessment, assessment methods, etc. Please contact the department to utilize these resources or if you have questions. Student Affairs Programs and Assessment provides leadership and education that builds capacity and empowers staff members across the division to develop assessment and meaningful evaluation to support engagement, services, and learning for students.
