What is Success Coaching?
It is an interactive process that empowers students to develop the skills necessary to achieve their goals. Incoming freshmen in the program are assigned a Success Coach team that will work with the student in making a successful transition to college.
How does Success Coaching work?
Incoming freshmen students are assigned to a Success Coach and a Peer Success Coach. The Success Coach team will attempt to contact all students assigned to them the first five weeks of the semester to see how they are transitioning to college and offer support in addressing any concerns or issues that students may be encountering. During weeks 6-10, the Success Coach team will continue to reach out to students that had problems during the first five weeks and will continue to periodically check-in on the other students assigned to them. Weeks 10-13, we will attempt to contact each student to see how they did on midterms, remind students of pre-registration for next semester, and refer them to appropriate resources as needed. Success Coaching ends after week 13, but students can continue to reach out to their Success Coach team if they need assistance.
How do I participate in Success Coaching?
Student Success reviews the incoming freshmen class and determines participation in the program based off of high school GPA. Students who are entered in the program have the option to opt out, but we do not encourage doing so. Currently students are not able to opt in to the program.
